WILKESBORO FACULTY

Lauren Alston is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. Her dance career began under the direction of Donna Lewis (Founder of Dee Crump School of Dance) and later flourished under the direction of Dale Lam (Director of Columbia City Jazz Dance School). While under the guidance of Dale Lam, she was taught by many reputable choreographers including:  Stacey Calvert (Principle Dancer at New York City Ballet), Nick Lazzarini (Winner of So You Think You Can Dance), Travis Wall (Emmy Award Winner and Co-Owner of Shaping Sound), and Trey Holloway (Back up Dancer for Whitney Houston). Ms. Alston’s professional career began at age 16, when she was invited by the Chinese Cultural Council to tour various cities in China for 32 days and perform over 40 shows. Soon after, she performed in several music videos and commercials, including Huggies, and Carolina Imports. As she continued her quest to fulfill her artistic zeal, she became Creative Director for DJ Bois Obscur, Co-Director of Columbia City Jazz’s Company II, Hip Hop and Jazz Competition Team Director at Griffin School of Dance, and national and regional judge and instructor for several dance competitions. As her ambition continues to cultivate, Ms. Alston looks forward to sharing her passion and insight with more eager artists.

Lanell Brennan was born in a small town in Pennsylvania and started dance at the age of four. She continued to dance throughout high school and studied dance at Muhlenberg College, earning her Bachelors in Elementary Education and Psychology with a Dance Minor. Lanell was a founding member of Muhlenberg Tap Ensemble and T.A.P. Company based out of Easton, PA. She has performed with legendary tapper Buster Brown and was a featured dancer in many regional theater productions including 42nd Street and Anything Goes  choreographed by Germaine Salsberg          (Broadway Dance Center). She opened her own dance studio, Gotta Dance! Studio in 2005 in a very small town in Tennessee where she teaches and choreographs for tap, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, local drama productions, and competitive teams. Since then she has seen her studio grow to become a nationally awarded dance studio. Her dancers have won many regional and national competitions, as well as multiple choreography and entertainment awards as well as scholarships. Gotta Dance! Studio has been awarded the ADCC Studio of Excellence Award four years in a row both regionally and nationally. Lanell’s biggest accomplishment is instilling a love of dance to all of her students; from the littlest recreational dancers to her senior competitive team members. When not teaching dance, or judging with the ANDC family, Lanell likes to travel and enjoys being a full time sports mom to her sixteen year old son.

Eileen Juric draws from a multi-layered history in the dance world. She began her career training on full scholarships at the Joffrey Ballet School and the School of American Ballet, afterwards dancing professionally as a soloist with the Chicago Lyric Opera Ballet. After her performing career, Eileen shifted to teaching children and later opened her own studio in New Jersey. Recognizing first-hand how traditional approaches fell short in a mainstream setting, she came to understand the need for a fresh approach to technique. Eileen began developing an innovative technique program called “BalletBarreNone”, and she produced the acclaimed 3-DVD series “The Children’s Hour of Power” for ages 3-9.  The highly-rated,  5-star reviewed series is based on the Joffrey Ballet School’s pre-ballet curriculum, has sold in over 23 countries, and was hailed by Dance Teacher Magazine as “unique and inspirational”. She has continued to refine and expand her progressive teaching methods for dancers of all ages and backgrounds. While creating her latest content, Eileen decided to rename her program "PowerDance Technique" to better reflect its essence and reach its audience.  The “Elements” Series, for ages 9 and up,  was sponsored by Revolution Dancewear. Since that time, Eileen has taught locally and traveled internationally as a faculty member for CLI Studios and for such conferences as the Dance Teacher Summit, the DanceLife Teacher Conference, Dance Masters of America, and the Florence Summer Dance Intensive in Italy.
